Global GreenTag Americas invites you to attend an exciting networking event and panel discussion at Chicago Build on September 19 to discuss how, together, we can become positive disruptors and explore how innovation can support a new living standard.

Focusing on key elements on the maturation of the Green Building Movement, the panel will open discussion on how Sustainability and Energy Efficiency has evolved and the important need to address Materials Transparency and Wellness in our Supply Chains alongside Embodied Carbon concerns.

We hope you can join us. The session will be led by Daniel A. Huard, CEO of Global GreenTag Americas who will be engaging John Harrison, architect, FAIA, RDI and LEED Fellow, Dylan Beach, Sustainability Specialist with GOJO Industries and David W. Ware of Knauf who is also a LEED AP BD+C, ILFI Ambassador.

Speakers include:

John Harrison, FAIA, RDI, LEED Fellow

John is an architect and sustainability leader with over 25 years of diverse experience in private practice and as an owner/owner's representative. As a part of the Starbucks Innovation and Sustainability team, he co-authored the Starbucks LEED for Retail Volume Build Program and led the execution team responsible for sustainable strategies and LEED certifications. With over 1,600 certified stores in 20 different countries/US territories, the program certified more projects than any other private company in the world and has certified stores in more countries than any other retailer.

In private architectural practice, John spent 13 years at Mithun, Inc. in Seattle working with a variety of retail, commercial and institutional clients including: REI, Seattle Coffee Company, Precor, Mirival and the IslandWood Environmental Learning Center. He is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker on sustainability at scale and has led presentations to building professionals on subjects related to LEED volume certification and sustainability at the national AIA convention, multiple Greenbuild conferences and a variety of other industry events. John is a dedicated environmental advocate serving on the boards of EarthCorps and the Northwest Natural Resource Group and as a member of the AIA COTE Advocacy Task Force.

Dylan Beach, M.B.A., M. E&S
Sustainability Specialist, GOJO Industries

Dylan Beach is a Sustainability Specialist at GOJO Industries, the maker of PURELL instant hand sanitizer. He acts as an internal consultant to embed sustainability throughout the Enterprise, with an eye towards achieving GOJO's 2020 Sustainable Value Goals and Strategies.

Prior to GOJO, Dylan was a Sustainability Project Manager at Avery Dennison, a publicly traded Fortune 500 company. He worked on several global, cross-functional projects including measuring supplier sustainability performance and sustainable procurement strategies.

Dylan also worked on wildlife management and climate change issues in Kenya, Alaska, and the Yukon Territory. He enjoys backpacking and camping with his wife and dog. He has camped on 4 continents.

He holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, a Master of Environment and Sustainability from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Bachelor's degree in biology from Denison University.  

David W. Ware, LEED AP BD+C, ILFI Ambassador

David is a building envelope and systems performance expert. As the Western Regional Specification Specialist for Knauf Insulation, David grows Knauf's insulation material presence in construction projects by working closely with architectural and mechanical design firms providing product knowledge, analytical support, and specification writing assistance to leverage the high performance characteristics of his company's products for energy efficiency and sustainable building designs.

David helps advance energy efficiency and green building science, provides energy code advocacy, helps facilitate code compliance and is a catalyst for putting in place customer-valued incentives and above code programs that add unique value to the building market. He is a member and regularly participates in professional building organizations and affiliates that provide support for the building community.

His additional experience includes private land planning and state and national energy and building code development in the public sector and is a past Board member for the US Green Building Council. David is an active outdoor enthusiast, skier/snowboarder and mountain biker. He has a Master's Degree in Urban & Regional Planning and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science.
